MEET THE INSTRUCTORS
MASTER BENSON LEE
Master Benson Lee has been training and teaching kung fu and tai chi for more than 40 years. Sifu Lee is a well known senior top disciple with lineage from Grandmaster Shum Leung in New York City, who opened the first Ying Jow Pai - Eagle Claw Kung Fu school in the USA in 1974.
While living in NYC, Sifu Lee was a top ranked forms and weapons competitor in open tournaments. He was named runner up 1983 Kung Fu National Competitor of the Year by IKF magazine. Later, he moved to Sacramento, CA and taught kung fu and tai chi there from 1988 to 2000. In addition, Benson Lee established a successful 25 year hotel management career with asset responsibility over branded hotels by Marriott, Hilton, and Sheraton. Today, Sifu Lee is often invited to judge and demonstrate at traditional martial arts competitions. He is a Board Advisor with TCMAF of Southern CA.
Sifu Lee's teachings emphasize agility and having a strong foundation in eagle claw kung fu skills and fighting strategies. Effective self-defense requires keen overall awareness, seamless reaction speed, and precision strikes with focused power at specific vital targets.

SIFU TAV BYERHOFF
Sifu Tav Byerhoff has been dedicated to the system of Eagle Claw Kung Fu for over 20 years. He began his training under Master Benson Lee in Sacramento California and after pursuing his degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis on athletic training and injury rehabilitation, he moved to Los Angeles to help open Master Lee's first school in LA in 2010.
Sifu Tav has been published in Inside Kung Fu Magazine, teaches Seminars on Eagle Claw Kung Fu in Mexico and has judged and demonstrated at both local and national kung fu competitions. After 10 years of teaching in Los Angeles, Sifu Tav moved back to Sacramento and is now teaching privately and online.
